United States is operates 737 official military bases around the world worth US $127 billion. Global total of US personnel was 1,840,062 with an additional 473,306 Defence Department civil service employees and 203,328 local hires. It owns 32,327 barracks and other buildings and leases 16,527 more.


The Pentagon is easily one of the world’s largest landlords owning 687,347 acres overseas and 29,819,492 total globally.





The number omits bases in Afghanistan, Iraq (106 garrisons as of May 2005), Israel, Kyrgyzstan, Qatar, and Uzbekistan, though the US military has established colossal base structures in the Persian Gulf and Central Asian areas since 9/11.





and $5 billion worth of military and espionage installations in Britain long conveniently disguised as Royal Air Force bases like Menwith Hill and Pine Gap





and the Yanks dare take offense at being labelled Imperialist.

Um, let%26#039;s see...the causal situating of said foreign military bases was, um, oh, HITLER, SOVIET expansion and aggression, JAPANESE pillaging of China, the Phillipines, etc.......golly jeepers, genius--now aren%26#039;t you glad they%26#039;re there?

I personally think we should protect our allies, pull out everywhere else and just let the world deal with itself. We should know when we%26#039;re not wanted and let everyone else do for themselves what they don%26#039;t want us doing for them.

Reply:we have all this military and power but i didnt stop 911 sad isnt it lets n ot also forget it was the united states cia t hat gave bin loden all this power in the first place why dont we just bring all the military home to the usa to protect our own country and our coast that would be the right thing to do the usa has the power money and in military to start any war win the war and or loose the war but there are people and families starving to death every day here we can rebuild other countries with there economy but we cant help our on economy grow and we cant get people here off the unemployment lines we spend billions aday in iraq but we cant even have enough schools built for our kids they have to study in trailers any one understand this let me know please and there are thousands living in the streets homeless and the veterans that has been to war and are now on the streets what the hell is wrong with that picture thank u ...................terry stlls
