6.Moira did not study as long as she wanted : consequently, she did not do as well as she would have liked.

Is the use of the punctuation correct?
Most are wrong. Sorry. When reading, punctuation is intended to show a pause, and more particularly how long a pause. A comma %26quot;,%26quot; is intended for the reader to pause for either a change in thought or a list, but without regard a pause. A colon %26quot;:%26quot; indicates a list is about to be given or as above to separate Chapter and Verse in the Bible. A semi-colon %26quot;;%26quot; indicates that there will be another whole sentence that relates back to the sentence just before the semi-colon.

1. The train always arrives punctually at 3:30 p.m. and I make sure I am there to see it. (You could put a semi-colon after the last period in p.m. but the %26#039;and%26#039; would not make sense)

2. The reading that the student chose was Exodus 2:12.

3. When coming to camp, please bring the following: three pairs of shorts, three shirts, and one pair of rubber-soled shoes; all should be labeled with your name.
